Which? have announced that they have received 50,000 applications from homeowners to their Big Switch campaign just 48 hours after its launch. The Big Switch scheme sets out to help people cut the cost of their energy bills.
All a property owner has to do to take part is sign up to the initiative at www.whichbigswitch.co.uk before the 31st March. Which? will then invite energy companies to get involved and compete with one another to offer consumers the best possible deal. This will help those who are struggling to find or understand how they can find the best possible tariff.
Once an energy company has been selected Which? will inform all those who have signed up of the deal they have managed to secure. It will then be up to the householder to decide whether they want to switch to the new deal or stay with their existing supplier.
The more people that sign up to the scheme the more likely it is that Which? will be able to secure a competitive deal as it will give them an enormous amount of power to tempt companies into taking on a whole new collection of customers.
It is free to sign up and there is no obligation to take up any deal that may come on offer. The only thing you will need to do after signing up is to provide Which? with a few details about your current gas/electricity supplier and the tariff you are currently on.
Those who aren’t interested in the scheme can still save a huge amount of money on their energy bills by installing double glazing in High Wycombe, double glazing in Reading and double glazing in Watford.
