Hazlemere Windows Invest In Ultion Locks

Aluminium, composite, timber and UPVC front door security design and technology has significantly improved over recent years, meaning even more secure door locking barrels are now available in the UK replacement door marketplace.

As you would expect better, stronger, more technologically advanced locks made from the highest quality materials cost a lot more than standard locks, but in Hazlemere Windows opinion are worth the investment, so in Winter 2018, Hazlemere Windows made the decision to offer Ultion Locking Barrels as their standard offering on all aluminium and all UPVC doors. Hazlemere Windows composite doors and timber doors already had 3 star locking barrels as standard, so now every single domestic door comes with a 3 star locking barrel.

Sadly in the UK lock snapping is the most common method of burglary technique because it is quick, quiet and requires little skill. The Ultion door barrel is designed snap safely and in a controlled way. Basically how it works is that clever design means a small section on the outside is sacrificed if a burglar attempts to break in. In addition a hidden firing pin in Ultion’s core secures the central cam and stops the intruder being able to open the door. Home owners are still able to operate the lock with a key from the inside.

A key component of the Ultion barrel is its strength. Molybdenum is used in high strength superalloys. Its 6th highest melting point of any alloy and ability to withstand pressures up to 300,000 pounds per square inch are why it features in the production of military air craft and the housing of the Ultion locking barrel.

Both ends of every Ultion lock feature twenty hardened steel pins and plates, each one positioned precisely to protect the Ultion locking barrel from a drill attack.  Most security locks have only five or six pins. The Ultion locking barrel uses eleven. This means that the Ultion lock has nearly three times the amount of key combinations required for the highest standard.

Brisant Secure, the manufacturers of the Ultion Lock are so confident that your home will not be broken into by a burglar snapping their Ultion barrel that they will give £1,000 to any customer should this ever happen. How this works is that should a burglary take place within 10 years from the point of installation and entry was achieved by snapping one of their Ultion locks, they will pay you £1,000 compensation. To activate your Ultion lock guarantee you’ll need to complete this claim form within 28 days of your new door installation. Only use genuine Ultion keys on Ultion locking barrels. Claims must be returned to Ultion within 14 days of the incident. To see the Ultion locks in action visit one of Hazlemere Windows showrooms
